A colourful variation on the Complex Spangenhelm design. This helmet has splits suspended from rings protecting the back of the head, A broader nasal, a sculpted dragon ridge made of brass, and sculpted brass eyebrows. It is made of 18 gauge mild steel and 18 gauge brass.

Swords

All of these swords and saxes have hand-forged, high carbon steel blades which are heat-treated. The hilt components are usually of mild steel with hardwood grips, unless otherwise noted.

Type M Sword

A sword with a simple hilt.

Price: $450 with a fuller groove in the blade (pictured).

Price: $300 with no fuller groove in the blade.

A pair of LangSaxes

Here are shown two sword-sized versions of the scramasax.

Norman Sword with Tea-Cosy Pommel

This type of sword was apparently well depicted on the Bayeaux Tapestry.

Type Xa sword

This type of sword has a tea-cosy-like pommel, but the ends of the pommel taper upward a bit.

Scramasax with scabbard

This is a shorter custom sword-sax with blueing on the blade and hilt. The grip is wrapped with bands of bronze, and there are bronze settings for semi-precious stones on the pommel. The blade is carved with a rune. The scabbard is of wood, covered in leather, with bronze fittings.
